Telomarket grocery store to open in Houston’s Fifth Ward to combat food desert

A new grocery and meat market called Telomarket will hold its grand opening on Jan. 9, according to a press release.

The 15,000-square-foot store is at 5702 Lyons Ave. in Houston’s historic Fifth Ward. The store will offer fresh produce as well as meat that’s prepared-to-order by the butcher.

The grand opening will also feature several vendors hosting tents in the parking lot, beginning at 8:30 a.m. When doors open at 9 a.m., free coffee, hot chocolate and pastries will be served. Hot lunches…
