Tell me things about Houston

"I am Egyptian I 19y and will be traveling to and from Texas, specifically Houston. I am neither rich nor poor but middle class. I want to know the advantages and disadvantages of the city, and I want to make friends so I can meet them. I could have gone to any state in America, but I heard great things about this city.
