Tell me about the Texans

I’m a huge Rockets fan and lover of basketball in general. I’ve found it hard to get into pro football but I know pulling for a team/city that I find close to my heart helps a lot. As someone who hasn’t followed football too closely, what important things should I know about the Texans, both past and present?
