Tail gating question

How does rial gating work now? I heard you have to buy a ticket to tailgate? Is this true? I remember maybe 10 years ago I used to go and it was free and we could just pull up with a cooler full of beer and party. Anyone know what kind of ticket we need to buy? Is it a game ticket?
