Switch from Dish to Direct TV, Questions

I realize much of this has been posted a 100 times, but I wanted recommendations from current Direct TV subscribers. We’d like to watch the games without having to use VPN on MLB.TV, plus, also being able to watch the pregame and post game shows. I’m looking at the Choice package, which is pretty comparable to what we have with Dish now. We live about 40 miles from Houston.
