Support for Shepherd Durham Phase 2

A project to rebuild Shepherd Durham from I-10 to 610 by the Memorial Heights Redevelopment Authority (MHRA) has joined a number of other projects in the Houston area in an indefinite pause. This new administration placed a pause on all projects that repurpose vehicle lanes or reduce the width of vehicle lanes in order to make room for pedestrian, cyclists, or buses. Phase 1 broke ground in 2021 and construction is ongoing. You can see finished sections between 15th Street and 20th Street. Phase 2 of the project is ready for construction and this is the section that has been paused. Please consider emailing the Mayor urging him to lift the pause. Even if you’re someone who has already emailed him about this project, use this as encouragement to email again, following up and requesting a response.
