Stupid question about how to pay water bill (apartment)

I just got my first apartment in Houston. It says on my lease I’m supposed to pay for water… but I haven’t gotten a water bill. My water is good and running. Did I miss something? Am I supposed to set this up like my electricity? At this point it’s been 6 months and I’m too embarrassed to ask the leasing office.
