Strange Purple Light

Saw this strange purple light outside probably less than an hour ago. It was getting really windy outside and went to take a look, saw this light in the sky that seemed to pulsate. There was no sound, just tons of wind out it kind of seemed like it was about to rain but never did. There was lightning in the distance but that didnt seem to affect it either. Also it didn't seem to have a source (like those beam spotlights) that could be made out.

Never seen something like this near my area before so it caught my attention. It's gone now, along with the clouds so I'm stumped. Anyone else notice it or have any idea what it could've been?

TLDR; Saw a weird purple light in the sky not too long ago. Never seen it before, and didn't have an obvious source curious for info or ideas
