Stills drop was a crushing move…for next year.
I get that is hurts this year (obviously) with dropping him a day before Fuller gets popped…but it’s worse.
Our new GM will have to make ridiculous decisions to not force a total rebuild. Decisions that will require some serious luck:
-
Gareon Conley resigning? We have no other CBs. He may not be great but he’s leagues better than Gaines and Hargreaves. Aaaaand no tape this year to base it off. Just half a season when he didn’t get a Camp.
-
Resign a WR to a large contract who has Never played a full season. Top 15 WR average $18M per year now FYI. He will want at least that. And even with the Roids he has the leverage that DHop is gone.
-
To trade or not trade JJ fricking Watt.
-
and a lot of other tough calls like trying to convince Martin/Cunningham/Merci to take pay cuts b/c they’re untradeable.
All that… and no picks in rounds 1 or 2.
The only way to keep this team relevant … find serious bargains in FA. One that could be the best bargain in the NFL. Kenny Stills for just $1.75M. That’s what he was due next year. Just 1.75M.
And we let him go. SMH
