Steps after a Total Loss

In January I was T boned at very low speed. The only damage to my car was cosmetic to the passenger side. Fast forward to today after dealing with the other parties insurance, they’ve cut me a check and I retained the vehicle. However, they took the plates off my car. How am I supposed to drive around? It’s my only car and it’s the weekend. I work tonight and tomorrow. I googled for a bit, but websites are telling me to re indirect it and go to the tax office. I own the car already.
