Starting a job in Houston, what do I have to look forward to as someone who doesn’t own a car?

Starting a job that will be in Harris County, was wondering what are things I should keep an eye out for, both good and bad? Any suggested areas that will be nice to live in near Harris? How much hassle is it to live without a car (I do have an electric bike)?
