Squatting vs Trespassing in Houston

Ive been watching the news lately and seeing tons of deadbeat squatters all over the US including in the south take over families rental properties, etc. (include families primary residences). Is that a thing in Texas or if you call the cops they'll get rid of them for trespassing (even if they pull some BS like they have a deed or are tenants, etc.)>
