Spring Training Question!

We're in Florida for the week of 2/15-2/22 – staying in Vero Beach. I'm considering getting up early one day and driving down to West Palm (about a 90 minute drive) to watch practice for a couple of hours. This is going to be on 2/18, which is before games start, so it'll just be practices. Has anyone else done this? What's it like? I've seen the 'Stros play a spring training game vs. the Mets in Port St. Lucie before, but I've never been to just a practice day.
