Spring Plummer Recs?

Looking to replace a busted pipe with PEX. Was quoted 1300. I'm thinking that's way expensive to cut some pipes, screw in some transition fittings, and thread the PEX from the attic to the bathroom. Maybe 100 in parts and 1200 in labor for a 3-4 hour job? Is 500 unrealistic? Any trusted plumbers to recommend?
