Something I do not understand…

How are Tom Brady and the Patriots considered the GOAT and one of the greatest sports teams of all time, yet everyone outside of Houston continues to HATE the Astros? Brady and Belichick had De-flate gate and Spy-gate, right? But without question, Tom Brady is a HOFer and Belichick is probably one of the greatest NFL coaches of all time. Why was this not constantly being shoved in our faces every time NE or Tampa Bay made it the playoffs like it is every time the Astros are on tv? The Astros continue to get the blunt end of the stick. Is it because they continue to win? They have been in every ALCS since 2017, played in 4 World Series and won two. Even players who were in college/the minors while this was going on in 2017, get booed. The only active players from that team are Bregman and Tuve. The typical answer I get is, because the league didn't come down on them hard enough. Did the NFL come down on the Patriots? Did they make them forfeit any title? Is Brady/Belichick going to be stripped of their rightful spot in Canton?
The Red Sox's manager doesn't even get booed and him along with Beltran were the ones who orchestrated it. Again, fans/media say it was different when the Red Sox were accused of doing the same thing, with a coach who did it Houston, literally the year before. The Red Sox didn't use it very much. What is the difference between someone who took steroids for 10 years in the league every year and a guy who did it once to get over an injury? Guilty is guilty right? Michael Young, outfielder for the Yankees and Red Sox was very open about how both NY and Bos did it, but was quickly given a job on the MLB network and has not said another word about it since. Is it because Houston is a much smaller market than teams in NY, Bos, and LA? submitted by /u/veintisiete |
