Someone took photos of me while at Sinh Sinh. Is this a thing?

I’m black. I was looking for a place to eat that still served food late and wasn’t a chain. Sinh Sinh looked interesting, so I went.

Some dude in a white shirt, shorts and Crocs kept taking photos of me. While I was on my phone. When my food arrived. While I was eating. When I was done eating.

The first time I noticed it, I asked him if he was taking photos of me. He said “tourist.” I figured getting him to delete the photos would be difficult so I said okay and he moved away.

The second time I noticed it, he asked if he could take a photo. I loudly told him no; he moved away. (He angled his phone to take the photo before he asked, so I suppose he got a photo anyway.)

The THIRD time he came around, he was going to take the photo without warning. I got up and told him sternly to stop taking photos of me. He played dumb “I can’t take photos of you?” and walked away.

Is this a thing?
