So what’s YOUR favorite place to eat in Houston?

I'm a native Texan new to the area after living in SoCal for the past 8 years. One of my favorite things to do was try new restaurants and I'm genuinely excited to see what the food scene has to offer here. I love Indian food but more than anything, I love to eat and experience culture shock through my taste buds. So what do Y'ALL reccomend?

Also… Please drop your BBQ reccomendations. 8 years in that urban hellhole and I couldn't find a single good American BBQ restaurant; s**t all tasted like they had a goddamn sad yank in the kitchens. I'm overdue for some smoke and good old fashioned burnt-tip carbon cancer.
