So far this season Abreu and Maldonado have combined for -1.8 fWAR

Martin Maldonado prior to this game has an fWAR of -0.6 and has graded out negatively in both offense and defense.

Astros would be 38-23 with 0 fWAR from those 2 spots on the roster.

Abreu we all know has been atrocious, but who knows I am just praying he gets it together on a consistent basis.

Abreu, we are probably stuck with but Maldonado is probably the easiest to change given he's a FA. And with Abreu, we can maybe hold out that he can put it together given his history (again maybe cope).

And to those saying "Maldonado caught the best pitching staff" or whatever. Do you truly believe they wouldn't be a great pitching staff without Maldy last year? Say not even in the top 3?
