Snow Storm/Insurance help

Just like many of us, our home was affected by the winter snow freeze. A busted pipe essentially caused damage in every room. We were able to save many personal items but the entire house has since been gutted. We have been living in an Airbnb. We have home owners insurance and were under the assumption that we would be covered for X amount. We have been working with our insurance agent for weeks now, waiting and waiting to hear back about a final estimate payout. However, we finally heard back from the adjuster yesterday that because our house was built over 25 years ago that the max coverage was only $10,000. We were definitely not aware of this. Damages are most likely about ~ $80-100,000

Does anyone know anything about this? And how to work with our insurance company?

I’m not sure what to do.

Also, what assistance programs would be helpful for applying for grants, fema, etc.?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!
