Simon to reopen 3 Houston-area malls Friday

On the heels of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s plan to reopen the Texas economy, the country’s largest mall owner plans to reopen all three of its Houston-area malls starting on Friday, May 1, according to a report from CNBC.

Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group (NYSE: SPG) will open dozens of shopping centers across the country on May 1, 2 or 4, according to an internal memo obtained by CNBC.

The Houston-area malls opening May 1 are The Galleria, Houston Premium Outlets and Katy Mills.
