Sienna Negative Experiences
You might absolutely LOVE Sienna (I think the older neighborhoods are nice), but I am so happy we left! Anyone else have a poopy experience? I’m specifically talking about the very back. Of the 7 or so people we got close to through our kids’ schools, 4 have moved out of Sienna in the last year.
In our year and a half there (2022-2023), it felt like the height of COVID again. Empty streets, barely saw our neighbors. No kids playing outside but ours. It was eerie and sterile. We thought there would be this wonderful sense of community with so many transplants from other states, but our section was a ghost town. I’m a Houston native, but we lived out of state for a decade. We came down once and couldn’t find a place. This is a lesson to never choose to buy a house based on seeing it over FaceTime!
The traffic to get to Target or HEB, the lack of local businesses, the overcrowded schools…
You might say we got ourselves into this and you are right. We paid for it in the big loss we just took on our Sienna house when we sold it. We are now thriving in a smaller home in spring branch.
