should I rent a house with window ac units

I love the house but I'm unsure about the ac with how hot it gets in the summer. My son will be 1 and a half when summer rolls around so I can't be living in discomfort. Anyone live somewhere with window ac units? Is it fine? Idk if im overthinking this not
