Short Uber trips in Houston

Hi all, I'm in Houston on a business trip for a week and my hotel is a bit of an awkward distance from my workplace, about a 20-minute walk or a 4 minute drive. Back in my home country, I would just choose to walk this distance and get some exercise, but I've checked the Google Street view of the walk to the office and there seems to be a lot of sections missing sidewalks.

Back at home, Uber drivers get pissed off when they realise the fare is such a short drive and sometimes just cancel on you and drive off before picking you up. Is that likely to occur on Houston for a 4-minute drive as well?
