Short trip to Houston with Fiancé in a couple weeks. Looking for ideas/recommendations.

Traveling to Houston for my fiancés bday. We are staying downtown about a mile from the Toyota center and the only plans I have as of now are the Carrie Underwood concert. We enjoy going to breweries and such but am open to any suggestions you guys have that are must see or do while there. Also obviously any great food spots we might need to hit?

Do not know much about the area so any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!!!
