Senior independent living communities recommendations?

My 70+ yr old mom moved to the Houston/Sugar Land area a few years ago and has been bouncing around a few apartments since then. My siblings and I are trying to help her out by finding a senior independent living community where she can find friends and activities to keep her busy, and where she can settle down for a while. She does not need to be in assisted living at the moment.

Can anyone recommend any (affordable) places for us to go check out? Ideally in SL or SW Houston to stay close to the areas she already knows. Bonus points if the community also has a large Vietnamese population. She speaks English well, but nothing comes as easy as her native tongue.
