Seeking recs for a small trip this weekend

Hi, my partner and I are visiting Houston this weekend and staying near the Menil. I’m a lifelong hospitality person and while I’ve been scouring lists and maps, I am always helpful on threads like this for cities I’ve lived in so I thought why not ask?

We’re looking to primarily stay in that area, but don’t mind traveling too far. I’m a huge fan of more or less anything done well, but we love all kinds of East Asian food (and I understand there’s a lot of south Asian food that is excellent), French, Mediterranean/levantine, and good ole fuckin Texas classics like CFS and bbq.

To put it simply, what in that area HITS?
