Seeking cooling solutions for a room that does not have any windows
So my current living situation is a little bit odd; I'm living with family but I had to move in on short notice due to leaving my apartment due to some back and forth with the apartment complex, but that's a long story.
The room itself was made from my mom and her significant other renovating the garage and turning it into 2 rooms, both with, as mentioned in the title, no windows at all. This is just the first of many oddities of my living situation:
- They refuse to lower the AC to less than 80F, to which they say it is to keep the electric bill as low as possible. While I found that weird, I am willing to respect that considering the boyfriend fully bought the house, and I'm only just helping pay for insurance on my car and internet.
- I play a fair amount of games that tend to be more towards AA and AAA games, thus requiring more resources from my system and generating heat; immediate examples include Baldur's Gate 3 and Helldivers 2
- An addendum to this is that I also have a PCVR headset that I use extensively, and most VR games tend to be the most resource intensive games I play, usually for hours at a time.
- Privacy takes precedence over anything else for me, which means that my door is always closed unless I explicitly leave the room.
What I have set up right now is the ceiling fan spinning counter-clockwise as well as a small $20 desk fan, both of which are on for as long as I am in the room, which is pretty much constantly. While I am used to it, having done it for about 6 months now, it doesn't help cool the room overall at least from what I am feeling. There's always a bit of humidity in the room, to the point where my fingers are constantly feeling very slightly sticky and damp, and every time I go to sleep, I always wake up sweating.
I plan on moving out again a couple of months down the line, so I just need a solution that will be able to help cool down the room overall for the time being, especially while I am in VR. I am willing to spend a decent amount for any solutions recommended, upwards of about $400, but cost-efficient solutions are much more preferred.
Any help or guidance is appreciated! And I'll answer any questions for clarification as best as I can.
