Seeking advice for someone homeless in Houston
A friend has recently become homeless, and I don't live anywhere near Houston so I'm here asking for advice from people that do live in the city. Any information would be appreciated regarding available resources, shelters, locations for social assistance, or any other ideas for things such as temporary or short-term employment so she doesn't starve while we look for somehwere for her to stay at next.
She has no family, and no friends in the city since moving to Houston. It wasn't long after moving that her plans fell apart. If I was closer I'd being going to get her and offer her a place to stay. Until something like that can happen, the best help I can give her is to gather information online that I can then relay to her, during those brief times she can get online with her phone.
Right now I'm trying to figure out how to stretch the last bit of money she has to keep her fed, and to help her find locations within walking distance to get a vaccination, until we get some kind of plan in place. She's been out on the street a few weeks now, and she isn't eating often, and I don't think she is going to last long out there. I'm offering what help I can, but I know it's not enough. Any help or advice is appreciated
