Scooter or Electric Bike Commuting

Does anyone know a good dealer for these? We live downtown and are sharing a car. May get some electric scooters. I’d love a Vespa, but I don’t see them here much. I’d live advice from people in this area and not in a town that’s more made for walking/riding. Am I just setting us up to get killed?
