Science Outreach Opportunities

I’m a scientist and when I was in grad school I gave talks at schools all of the time because my university had existing partnerships. Now that I’m out of school I have literally no idea how to continue doing this. Teachers of Houston, how can I come tell your students about science being cool? Should I just randomly email schools? Is this just not a thing? I’ve given some virtual talks to students because my friends are their teachers, but I’d like to do some local stuff!
