School question

Hi all, I apologize in advance for my rambling.

I have two young kids, one of whom will be of school age in a couple of years, so my partner and I have been chatting about what schools they will attend. We are in Katy ISD at the moment but not in legit katy, more in the cy-fair area, and I am not impressed with the schools we are zoned to (based on feedback from colleagues, whose children attend/attended the nearby elementary and middle schools). We will likely relocate in order to send them to better schools, but my question is where?

With all of the turmoil around HISD lately, that doesn’t seem like a solid option. I’ve heard ok things about Spring Branch. I’m really curious about Fort Bend, as we were considering going that way due to family. Can I get some feedback from either parents or students in those areas? Any specific great public or charter school recommendations?

Additionally, does anyone have any recommendations for private schools in those areas?

I googled a lot today but found almost too much information – I am so overwhelmed. I figured asking y’all might be helpful. Thanks in advance.
