Scammers at Washington HEB? MLM perhaps?

So awhile ago I was shopping and some random dude sparks up conversation. I’m busy shopping so I kindly dismiss the conversation and move on. I ran into him 3 other times almost weekly, was weird we crossed paths so much, like he was just hanging out in HEB, and he finally asked if I wanted to join his side hustle, mentioned something about landscaping. I didn’t and didn’t ask what it was about.

A couple weeks ago, some dude compliments my sweater. He asked where I got it, blah blah, I say thanks and keep moving not thinking much about it. Then I see him sparking conversation with someone else a bit further into the store.

Yesterday I’m shopping produce and some random dude is complimenting some other guys boring/normal tennis shoes and asking him where he got them.

What’s the catch? They trying to sell stereos in the parking lot? Are there just a lot of friendly dudes at HEB? They trying to push mineral milk or something in an mlm?
