Scam jobs in Houston.
Hello , I believe someone has talk about this before but I thought I shared my experience as someone who actually worked there. I apologize if this is long , this is something that stays on my mind a lot so I thought I finally let it out.
The places I’ll be talking about go by different names such as “Ready Marketing Group “ , “Blustone “ “Fox force “ etc ( They go by a lot of different names so it’s hard to put them all.) They all go by the same address thoe , the address being : 5821 Southwest Fwy suite #330 Houston , Texas 77057.
Right after I graduated I decided to apply for some jobs , I applied for so many I couldn’t even remember half of them. A lot of people say they have been contacted by them without applying but I feel like I actually did apply to them . I eventually received a text message from them saying they would like to set up a interview with me , I replied with a time that worked & then they asked for my email so they could send me more “details “ the email basically said to dress appropriately. When the day of the interview came I go into the building , (the building had a couple of broken windows but I didn’t question it ). The receptionist asked what company for , & then once I told her she gave me a paper to sign . There was actually a bunch of people in the room ( I say about 20-25 ) . When I go into the interview nothing seem sketchy (to me atleast ) , they asked me about myself, just simple interview questions , then they said they had other applications to look at & they would call me for the second interview. I did in fact get call for the second interview, during this interview they said things like “ our biggest client is AT&T & this is what you could make & how fast you can get promoted “ then they asked a couple questions to like test my knowledge I guess, then said they would call me if I had been accepted. (I know a lot of people had to go through a third interview I didn’t ) . They had also mention how from like 50 people they had only hire like 2 or 3 & I was one of them (made me feel good about myself ) .
My first day of work was very interesting, basically a trainer goes with you & teaches you to go from door to door to sell AT&T to small businesses. Everything is commission base here , & while I had never worked at a commission base job it seemed pretty interesting & fun . By my 3rd day I had made my first sale , & I just kept making more & more afterwards. Everyone there was super sweet too , I even went over to the bosses house , & went out to have a fun weekend with my trainer. We all went out for drinks every Thursday, & had team nights on Tuesday . I won’t lie & say I wasn’t tired thoe , you go in at 7:45 am & around 9 am after “meetings “ you go off & try to sell internet to people & don’t go back into the office till 6pm . Also all of this is done in your car , they don’t provide you with gas money so it’s all out of pocket . Then when you finally do go to the office you don’t leave the office till almost 7pm . You are suppose to get pay every Monday but by week two I still hadn’t been pay , their excuse was that your sales don’t go through the system automatically & it takes weeks . Once you make two weeks with them they give you a “400 “ dollar bonus , which I did receive but it was given to me separately “so one week I got 200 & then the next week the other 200 “ it was actually like 160 each because of taxes . After a month I finally receive my first “paycheck “ for 100 dollars , when I asked they said it was because of the “ system “. I kinda had enough & quit , they kept making excuses for my money . Afterwards I get a bunch of phone calls from them , asking me why I left & that my real check was coming this week. I was going to just ignore them but my partner suggested I atleast get my money. On the phone with the boss he said that this will never happen again & that I’m a good employee & they didn’t want to let the training go to waste . After the phone call I had to decide if I really wanted to return to this place . I really liked / loved the people & the environment was fun & I really wanted to stay but again my partner who is a bit more realistic than me & is always trying to look out for me since as y’all can tell, I’m very naive & stupid . He told me he didn’t think it was a good idea & that I’d be stupid to go back , he suggested that I just get my money & call it a day. As I’m thinking this through I get a message from my friend to a link , the link was to a YouTube video calling this place out for being scammers. I for some reason decide to look up there reviews (which I had done before I went to my first interview & the reviews were nice) I have no idea why I decided to check their reviews again but what I saw was insane , right there was a review from me . A review I had never left , & it wasn’t just a fake account with my name . No it was my GMAIL account , what was crazy was that it didn’t come from the gmail account I gave them , it came from a gmail account I have used since I was like 12 but never gave to them. I wanted to trust these people but everything was just so shady , so I went in & grabbed my check . I open the check in the car & it was 400 dollars . For a whole month of work , I actually kept tracked of how much I made while I was working there , & it was WAY more than what they gave me .
Well, that’s my story you guys . I know this was long , but I had kept this in for a while because I didn’t want to be mean but I feel like it’s necessary to share , so other people don’t fall victims to this .
