Just noticed this tonight, as I'm not frequently on this block of Caroline. There are two historical markers for Sam Houston's home location in downtown. They are on neighboring buildings, about 15 steps apart. They were erected by different groups, have different descriptions, and different years – one says 1837-9, and the other 1837-1838. I assume the house overlapped the edges of both buildings, but does anyone know the backstory on why there are two markers and why it's not more consistent between them?
