Salon/Hairdresser for medium length men’s hair

Wanted to know yall's favorite place to go to style loose-curly medium (just past shoulder length) men's hair. I have a specific style in mind, with reference pictures, but I'm apprehensive about going to a regular chain like sportsclips, as I haven't had great experiences in the past. Any recommendations are appreciated, thanks!
