Safety Xavier McKinney has gotta be one of our top targets in FA
Our secondary gave up tons of explosive plays this past season. Whether it's due to CBs or S I am not certain.
Whether or not Pitre can step up in coverage is still out there, but having a guy like McKinney takes a ton of pressure off that.
McKinney put together the best season of his NFL career, leading the position in tackling grade (89.1) and coverage grade (91.2). He recorded 26 total stops with a 6% missed tackle rate (tied for second among safeties with at least 50 tackles). McKinney ranked in the top 10 in passer rating allowed (53.0) and first down/touchdown rate (24.5%) while surrendering only 0.6 yards per coverage target in the red zone (first).
He's not necessarily I guess elite in either the box or coverage depending on your grading. PFF has him basically at close to 80 grade for both.
He's only 24 and is a good all around safety. Him and Stingley can basically shut down one side of the field and limit the amount of explosive plays we gave up last season.
Not sure what he is going to want, but I would not be opposed to say 4/55m. Might get more but no clue since this was his best season.
He was bad last year, but solid year before that
