Safe hotel area

I’m considering going to the Dolphins/Texans game in December and staying at the DoubleTree in the medical area. Google says it’s a mile from the stadium. Is this a safe area? If so, is it walkable. I know it would be about a 45 min walk, but is it actually doable from that hotel to the stadium?
