Rodeo Carnival Freak Show? False memory! Late 80s

As a kid I remember going to the rodeo and there being a freak show set up in the carnival area. Similar to a fun house, but they had a fire breather enticing guest to go in and check out the strange people they had on the banners outside. Was this just a false memory or the real deal? I’m 37 and it’s always stuck in my brain rodeo season.
