Ridiculous Home Insurance Deductibles

Its that time of the year again- just saw another fat increase in my Home insurance renewal. So off I go shopping around online,

EVERY quote has my house's "replacement value" at double what I can realistically sell it for. Forget the premium cost, what's scary is that the min hurricane deductible is 50k for a 500k house (that they priced at 5% of the so called 1 mil replacement value)

This means if a Hurricane comes our way, I am basically out..or maybe its the intent after all, – they paying nada
