Rice Village Unfulfilled Potential

Rice Village has a phenomenal opportunity to easily become the “it” place in town but is totally wasted by parking lots and car oriented design.

The natural beauty around Rice & Hermann is second to none in Houston. I’m confused why the management at RV hasn’t embraced the green space/walkability/lifestyle areas that really make urban areas thrive.

Instead it’s a parking garage, surface parking and even parking on top of buildings! It’s quite treacherous walking with all the cars so close to you going every direction, especially with kids.

Anyways if anyone at Rice Village management reads this – please shut down a few parking spaces for more green space. Or better yet, an entire road! Perhaps a protected bike lane?
