Rice Military Flooding

Hey Houston! My wife and I are looking to buy a townhome in Rice Military. We love the neighborhood. I’ve heard that only parts of it have flooded, specifically the southeast portion. But I’ve also seen photos from Ike and other storms where downed trees have damage homes in the area. I’m wondering how prone it is to hurricane damage. It looks like it’s one of the better areas, but I’m anxious about starting a mortgage in an area that may have issues in the future. Thanks!
