Restaurant recommendations in downtown

Hi, I will be staying in Le Meridien Downtown in Houston to attend Trivium's concert, which restaurants around this area would you recommend? My preferences are italian or asian food, but if you have something like "you have to try this before you leave", I'm in. Budget is irrelevant if the food is worth it.
