Resources for those released from prison and homeless? I need a guide, please.

There’s this young man I want to help get back on his feet. He just got out of prison, and has been sleeping under a bridge and asking for money. I’ve talked to him a couple of times, and he still has a spark in him, even if it’s a small spark. He doesn’t strike me as someone who’s completely hopeless. He hasn’t hit that downward spiral yet.

What can I do to help? I’m willing to provide him with transportation, and help with any applications. I just don’t know where to start. He’ll also need counseling for addiction.

Anyone have experience with this?
