Residents ask why Houston police called them ahead of city council comments

The Houston Chronicle reports that residents who signed up Tuesday to air concerns before Houston City Council about what they see as unnecessarily invasive traffic stops and the police department's use of surveillance systems said they began receiving calls from members of the police department, who asked them questions about why they signed up and tried explaining why their work was necessary.
