Rent on 2k/month

Can I afford a $1400-$1600unit (1b1ba) in Houston only making 2K/month?

I know places require people make 2-3x the rent it if I was to get someone to get a place for me, would I be able to afford it?

I don’t have any other payments besides insurance and phone and internet. Combined with food and gas I’ll be adding another 300 on top of the rent. I’m single and don’t have kids.

What do you guys think? Is it doable and has anyone ever gone through an experience like this?
