Rent in Montrose

Hey fellow Houstonians!

I'm likely moving in the near future and looking to rent either a studio or a 1 bedroom apartment. I'm trying to gauge what my expectations should be for rent. I'm not looking to rent one a luxury apartment but maybe an older townhome or condo.

Any advice on what I should expect? From basic research I'm finding older condos around $1000/month but wonder if anybody has any tips out there for finding anything cheaper.
