Reminder: If you had to renew your electric plan over the summer thinking you might switch providers when prices came down, now might be the time

I signed a 3 year agreement at about $0.15/kwh over the summer with a $100 early termination fee. Now I can get 3 years at $0.11/kwh (and even lower very short term contracts), which is a ~2 month payback.

Check your plans to see what your early termination fee is to see if breaking your contract makes sense.
