Relocating to Houston for 2 years

My wife and I are contemplating a move from NJ to Houston due to work opportunities. We have been presented with a generous relocation package and would appreciate recommendations on the best neighborhoods for us. We are a recently married couple early thirties, seeking a vibrant area that is far from with nearby restaurants and attractions within walking distance. We are particularly interested in an area that is modern/trendy and ideally located close to Hedwig Village to minimize the notorious traffic concerns often mentioned.
