Relocating from NY to Houston TX. Any tips on safe and child appropriate housing and schooling in the proximity to Johnson’s Space center

Relocating due to new job. Super excited but extremely overwhelmed, especially by being a single mom with a toddler and not having any friends yet. Need some tips on good areas to live, daycares and pre-K’s , realtors and anything that is useful for nubes like me in your neck of the woods within a proximity to Johnson’s Space Center.
