Reliant Energy is killing me with these rates

I moved to Houston a year and a half ago, and like many others, was shocked to find that we have to/get to select our own energy providers. I was told that Reliant was the most, well, reliant. I also found a plan that allowed them to connect to my American Airlines loyalty account and accumulate miles every month. Being a newb to the whole selecting my own electricity thing, I took this plan as a decent deal.

Then came the bills. I just received an email that my energy usage from last week was 564.1 kWh at a whopping $141.66. For heating a 700 sq foot condo during the freeze! Are you kidding me?

Thank goodness I found this subreddit. Apparently I shouldn't be paying more than half of what I'm currently being charged. These guys got me paying 25 cents per kWh. And it costs $295 to cancel. I should note that my plan expires in Nov. 2024.

What should I do? Should I bite the bullet and switch providers? Seriously looking into EnergyOgre since I wouldn't mind paying the small fee for convenience.
